Description
Robert Half is looking for a Senior Accountant for a permanent opportunity in the New Haven, Connecticut area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be required to assist with financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and maintaining vendor files. This position offers a great long-term growth potential, including a strong compensation and benefits package for the candidate. What you get to do every single day
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Engage in various department-wide initiatives
Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary
Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner
Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary

Requirements
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Able to manage time well
Audit Requests experience
Accounting procedures experience highly desired
Month end closings experience required
Financial analysis experience
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience
Prior experience maintaining vendor files
Demonstrated knowledge of Accrual Accounting
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
3-5+ years of overall general accounting experience
The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
High attention to detail
