Description
We are seeking a VP/Director of Finance to join our team in the Chemicals Manufacturing industry, located in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity where the selected candidate will work closely with different teams, handle accounting questions, and provide support for financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise a team to ensure smooth operation in the finance department.
• Oversee the processing and analysis of financial statements.
• Handle inquiries related to banking and IRS-related matters.
• Engage in detailed costing analysis to understand product margins.
• Assist in the year-end audit and GAAP transition.
• Manage accounting functions, including month-end close procedures.
• Oversee financial statement preparation and business banking relationships.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of GAAP Accounting and pricing strategies.
• Utilize skills in Auditing and Manufacturing to enhance overall team performance.
Requirements • Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, preferably in the chemicals manufacturing industry
• Proven expertise in accounting functions, auditing, and GAAP accounting
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and related cost and margin analysis
• Proficiency in financial statement preparation and conducting month end close activities
• Experience in business banking relationships and pricing strategies
• Ability to manage and lead a team effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AS400 software
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and business development
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
• Bachelor's degree in finance or related field is required; an MBA or related advanced degree is preferred
• Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is desirable.
