Robert Half Customer Service Representative in East Syracuse, New York

Description We are in search of a Service Support Specialist to join our team in EAST SYRACUSE, New York. This role involves providing exceptional support to our local office and sales team, as well as delivering excellent customer and technical service. The position is a blend of customer service and warehouse responsibilities, serving customers across multiple industries.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to incoming calls, assist walk-in customers, and process e-business orders to quote price and availability of products

• Act as a liaison between customers, product factory, and local salespeople

• Promote and participate in services such as free delivery and custom solutions

• Develop a working knowledge of product lines to effectively and directly answer customer inquiries

• Coordinate inventory availability between product factory and local offices

• Commit to respond to customers within a specified timeframe with an answer or an update

• Utilize various functions such as electronic desktop catalog, Global Purchasing Network, Product Evaluation System, Part Configurator, and Service Requests through different platforms

• Manage Vendor Inventory

• Handle answering inbound calls.

This role offers a contract employment opportunity. Requirements • Proven experience in the service industry, preferably in a customer service role

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Vendor Manage Inventory (VMI)

• Proficiency in answering inbound calls and addressing customer inquiries

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives, and follow up to ensure resolution

• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively

• High level of professionalism and ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure

• Basic knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary

• High school diploma or equivalent; further training or education in customer service or relevant field will be a plus.
