Robert Half Technical Engineer in Eatontown, New Jersey

Description

Develop system design drawings including, but not limited to audiovisual system diagrams and schematic drawings; architectural diagrams, drawings and sketches; Design/Build and Bid/Build specifications; and operational capabilities narratives, etc. Work directly with clients, architects, consultants and staff throughout the design development and delivery process with the support of the Supervisor. Responsible for multiple client efforts, including SSA Relocations and others to be determined by the Manager of Engineering and Programming Services. Offer technical support and guidance thru the duration of the project for other team members, including those in Programming, Fabrication, Field Engineering or Commissioning Engineering. Work effectively and efficiently with support from other members of the engineering team, and also be able to support other members of the engineering team. Maintain complete and accurate project documentation and records. Follow procedures for archival of project documentation. Communicate effectively with internal staff, client representatives, cooperative trades and subcontractors. Attend industry training as required or directed by the Manager of Engineering and Programming Services. Effectively coordinate and manage multiple system design projects. Be responsible for successfully completing assignments on time and within budget. Conform to company technical standards and practices. Report to Application Engineering Manager and Engineering Leadership Team. Knowledge of and adherence to policies and procedures. Create Scope of Work documents to reflect solution descriptions, capabilities, and limitations Present technical solutions to executive-level audiences at partner and client organization. Maintain ongoing knowledge of processes and procedures as well as individual customer process’ and procedures Participate in transition activities to permit effective information transfer from pre-sales to implementation teams Create test plans for testing solutions and customer labs Perform testing in customer labs emulating live world environments Analyze customer networks to discern visual communications requirements Research technical issues involving the network and visual communications equipment Provide support for ad hoc and one-of-a-kind projects Work with manufacturers and vendors on current and future technologies and products to be able to select applicable technologies and products to present to clients. Poly /Cisco certified Videoconference Engineer certification desirable InfoComm CTS certification with Advanced CTS-D certification desirable Willingness to pursue and attend additional training related to performance of job. Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Project, Excel and Word) Poly CVE certification preferred Proficiency in video network infrastructure commissioning and support processes Knowledge of video and audio-conferencing service standards Demonstrated proficiency in the use of AutoCAD within AV system applications. Knowledge of audiovisual, videoconferencing and IT products and applications

Requirements

Excellent problem-solving skills Maintain a detail oriented attitude and appearance at all times Extensive use of business computer systems including Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project. May require occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs) Requires extensive sitting, standing and walking Domestic travel requiring multi-night stays within and at times outside the local work area Must be willing to complete background checks and drug tests as required by current or future contracts Must be willing to apply for security clearances, SSA Suitability, and other related clearances to be able to work at certain customer locations. Education and Qualifications: 1-3 years experience in a customer service area. AA Degree or equivalent experience in a technical subject is desirable Use of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite) in conjunction with desktop publishing and manipulation graphs, spreadsheets, etc. Knowledge of CAD software is a must. Knowledge of Revit software is a plus. Bi-Lingual capability is a plus.
