Robert Half Director of Finance in Edgewood, Maryland

Description

My client is searching for a Director of Finance to join their team in the banking industry, based in Maryland. The core function of this role revolves around managing and overseeing the financial portfolio of our organization, advising on asset liability management risks and strategies, profitability of products, and business lines, financial forecasting, financial reporting, and financial growth and liquidity. Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and communicate long and short-term goals for the Finance department to support the overall mission of the organization.

• Advise on asset liability management risks and strategies, balancing long-term financial stability while achieving growth.

• Ensure compliance with federal regulations as they relate to all areas of finance, including asset liability management, credit risk, liquidity risk, and interest rate risk.

• Manage the overall working capital to support loan volumes and invest excess funds into appropriate investments.

• Maintain close liaison and relationships with investment brokers and financial institutions.

• Participate in the pricing team, responsible for monitoring competitor products and rates, developing deposit and loan rate strategies, and evaluating the viability of new products, promotions, and changes in terms.

• Prepare financial proformas for new products, promotions, and changes in terms that consider various scenarios or "what-ifs" to support effective decision-making.

• Manage the investment portfolio to maximize earnings consistent with liquidity and prudent risk levels.

• Responsible for the asset liability management reporting system and financial management policies, advising on action steps that balance the mitigation of risk with profitability goals.

• Lead and manage the preparation of financial forecasts to support effective decision-making and resource allocation at the executive level in every economic environment.

Requirements • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial services industry

• Strong knowledge and experience in Budget Processes

• Proven expertise in Risk Management

• Demonstrated skills in Credit Risk Management

• Proficiency in Liquidity Risk Management

• Experience in Interest Rate Risk Management

• Ability to handle Monthly Financial Reporting

• Excellent Relationship Management skills

• Experience in Financial Forecasting

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification would be a plus

• Excellent leadership and team management skills

• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

• Proficient in using financial software and tools

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest degree of professional standards

• Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies and plans.
