Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a highly systematic and meticulous Tax Preparer in Edmond, Oklahoma, to join our CPA firm. In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist with the preparation of tax returns, bookkeeping, and various accounting tasks. This position is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of accounting who is looking to expand their skills in tax preparation and public accounting.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare individual and small business tax returns (Form 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065)
• Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements
• Perform bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, account reconciliation, and maintaining general ledgers
• Support clients with tax planning and tax-related questions
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations
• Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed
• Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and resolve tax-related issues
• Utilize accounting software systems such as Drake Tax Software, Intuit ProSeries, and Lacerte Tax Software
• Maintain financial records and handle expense reporting and documentation
• Provide exceptional customer service. Requirements • Candidates should possess at least one year of experience in the role of a Tax Preparer
• Demonstrable proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required
• Experience with Drake Tax Software is essential
• Familiarity with Intuit ProSeries is a must
• Proficiency in Lacerte Tax Software is necessary
• Candidates should have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent Customer Service skills are required
• Ability to understand and apply Deductible is necessary
• The role requires strong Documentation skills
• Knowledge of Expense Reporting is essential
• Candidates should have the ability to manage and maintain Financial Records
