Robert Half Security Network Engineer in Edwardsville, Illinois
Description
We are looking for a Security Network Engineer to join our client's team in EDWARDSVILLE, Illinois! This role is ideal for someone who is adept at configuring and guiding security measures in a Microsoft shop environment, with a focus on Office 365 and Intune. You'll be part of a small but dedicated team, handling sensitive data and working hands-on to ensure our network protection. This is a contract to permanent employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Determine necessary configurations for network security
Guide the team from a security perspective
Handle sensitive data with utmost care and confidentiality
Perform necessary tests and scans for network vulnerabilities and handle remediation
Manage security of servers, particularly on a VMware platform
Manage vulnerabilities, including prioritizing them correctly and providing vulnerability reports
Protect the organization against ransomware
Make continuous improvements on how the security team handles tasks
Utilize vulnerability tools such as Qualys for scanning and Fortigate EDR
Handle mobile device management
Work with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Cisco Technologies, EO/IR systems, AB Testing, Checkpoint Firewall, Configuration Management, Deployments, and Design.
Requirements
Proficiency in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
Experience with Checkpoint tools
Familiarity with Cisco ASA and Cisco Technologies
Knowledge of EO/IR systems
Ability to conduct AB Testing
Experience with Checkpoint Firewall
Understanding and experience in Configuration Management
Experience in managing and executing Deployments
Strong skills in Design
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field
Relevant certifications in network security or similar fields
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
