Description
We are partnering with a reputable construction company in search of an experienced Construction Bookkeeper. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the financial health of construction projects. The position is contract or contract-to-hire, providing a fantastic opportunity for professionals looking to grow in the construction accounting field.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable for multiple construction projects.
Process subcontractor invoices and ensure compliance with contract terms.
Prepare and post journal entries, including payroll and job costing entries.
Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and project reports to track financial performance.
Manage job costing, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses against project budgets.
Support the preparation of tax returns and assist with audits as needed.
Requirements
Previous experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in the construction industry (required).
Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices and job costing.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with project managers and other team members.
