Description We are in search of a Medical Billing Specialist to be based in El Dorado Hills, California. This role involves the use of various accounting software systems and medical billing functions in the healthcare industry. This position provides the opportunity for a short term contract employment.
Responsibilities:
• Utilize various accounting software systems for billing purposes
• Handle billing functions and claim administration in a healthcare context
• Operate EHR SYSTEM and IBM AS/400 for maintaining records and processing data
• Use Medisoft and Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis
• Manage accounts receivable and handle appeals process
• Oversee collection processes to ensure timely payment of invoices
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to health insurance portability and accountability act (HIPAA) regulations
• Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals to resolve billing issues
• Continuously update skills and knowledge to keep up with changes in the healthcare industry. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is necessary for maintaining and updating financial records.
• Familiarity with EHR SYSTEM is required for managing electronic health records efficiently.
• Knowledge of IBM AS/400 is essential for handling various applications and systems.
• Experience with Medisoft is needed for efficient medical practice management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary for data management and analysis.
• Understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR) is required for managing payments and reducing outstanding debts.
• Skills in Appeals are necessary for addressing denied claims and facilitating resolution.
• Familiarity with Billing Functions is essential for accurate and timely billing processes.
• Knowledge of Claim Administration is required for managing and processing insurance claims.
• Understanding of Collection Processes is necessary for ensuring timely payments and reducing bad debt.
