Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our clients team as a Legal Biller. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing legal billing, ensuring compliance with client guidelines, and maintaining precise financial records. This role requires a keen understanding of legal billing processes, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and process accurate and timely client invoices in accordance with billing guidelines and legal industry standards.

  • Review and verify time entries, expenses, and disbursements for correctness and completeness.

  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to obtain necessary information for billing purposes.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding billing inquiries and dispute resolution.

  • Address client billing concerns promptly and professionally, fostering positive relationships.

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date billing records, including client billing files and supporting documentation.

  • Monitor and track outstanding invoices, follow up on overdue payments, and provide regular status updates.

  • Ensure compliance with client-specific billing guidelines and legal industry regulations.

  • Stay informed about changes in billing procedures and implement necessary adjustments.

  • Prepare and distribute financial reports related to billing activities, providing insights to support decision-making.

  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to reconcile billing records.

  • Utilize legal billing software and other relevant tools to streamline the billing process.

  • Contribute to the implementation of new technologies or processes to enhance efficiency.

    Requirements

  • High school diploma required; additional education in accounting or a related field is a plus

  • Proven experience in legal billing, preferably within a law firm or legal department.

  • Familiarity with legal billing software and financial management systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in numerical data.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
