Robert Half Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director in El Segundo, California
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our clients payroll team in managing full-cycle payroll processing for 7000 employees across 9 different states on a weekly basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll management, demonstrated leadership skills, and hands-on experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) software.
Lead and manage a team of payroll professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development within the payroll department.
Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely execution of payroll for 7000 employees across multiple states.
Manage and review payroll calculations, deductions, and withholdings to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of new hires, terminations, and other payroll-related changes.
Utilize UKG software for payroll processing and stay updated on the latest features and enhancements.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to UKG, working closely with the IT department or UKG support as needed.
Compliance and Reporting:
Stay informed about changes in payroll laws and regulations across different states and ensure compliance in all payroll activities.
Generate and review payroll reports for accuracy and completeness, providing insights to leadership as needed.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll processing.
Implement best practices to streamline payroll operations and reduce manual interventions.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in payroll management, with a focus on full-cycle processing.
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
Experience managing a payroll team.
Proficiency with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) software is essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
