Robert Half Sr. Accountant in El Segundo, California

Description

We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team in El Segundo, California. As a Sr. Accountant, your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, from managing fixed assets and overseeing intercompany reconciliation to acting as a key liaison for various departments. You will also be tasked with providing support for internal and external audits. This role works a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the accounting and reporting for fixed assets, including tracking acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.

• Handle general ledger work including journal entries, accrual and month end close.

• Conduct intercompany receivable and payable reconciliation, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accuracy.

• Review and analyze financial deliverables such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and coordinate with shared services teams to address discrepancies and implement improvements.

• Manage and communicate financial aspects related to marketing activities, supply chain operations, research and development activities, and sales accounting processes.

• Create and update process documentation for key accounting functions, identifying opportunities for process improvements.

• Provide support for internal and external audits, including preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries.

• Oversee electronic data interchange (EDI) processes, ensuring accurate and timely data exchange.

Requirements

• Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a similar Senior Accountant role

• Demonstrated proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Extensive knowledge and experience with general ledger and journal entries

• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel

• Experience in handling month-end close activities in a timely and accurate manner

• Familiarity with revenue accounting processes and principles

• Proficiency in using D365 accounting software a plus

• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
