Description
Job Summary:
As a Business Unit Controller specializing in environmental and industrial services, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and strategic support for our business unit. The role requires expertise in SEC reporting, as well as a strong background in technical accounting, particularly within the context of the environmental and industrial services industry.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with SEC reporting requirements.
Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial data.
Technical Accounting:
Stay current with accounting standards and ensure compliance with GAAP.
Provide guidance on complex accounting issues related to environmental and industrial services.
Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
Business Unit Support:
Partner with business unit leaders to develop financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement.
Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
Assess financial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Work closely with internal and external auditors.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within the finance function.
Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in the environmental and industrial services sector.
In-depth knowledge of SEC reporting requirements and experience with technical accounting issues.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
