Robert Half International Logistics Clerk in Elk Grove Village, Illinois


Are you looking for work that requires experience working as a Logistics Clerk coordinating shipments? We are seeking a Elk Grove Village, IL Logistics Clerk for a great opportunity through OfficeTeam. This position's important duties include coordinating with vendors, arranging shipments, and processing customer orders. The chosen candidate will also need to perform a heavy amount of data entry and customer service functions. A manufacturing company is seeking candidates for a short-term duration to fill a temporary-to-full-time role.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Approve freight bills and process bills of lading

  • Report and adjust with inventory and sales management; warehouse; logistics for service changes

  • Follow-up with carriers, as necessary

  • Observe, follow, and encourage dispatch & progress of orders on time and to meet delivery requirements

  • Perform various administrative duties

  • Comply with guidelines for approving carriers


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset

  • We want someone with experience in purchasing, inventory control, transportation and warehousing functions

  • Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required

  • 2+ years' experience with shipping/logistics

  • Solid understanding of logistics

  • Earlier work involving Track Inventory

  • Practical knowledge of Inventory Reports

  • Prior experience with scheduling

  • Equipment Shipping experience

  • Background working with Warehouse Inventory

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Inventory Planning

  • Purchase Orders experience highly valued

  • Command of logistics & distribution

  • Previous experience working with order entry

  • Good understanding of Weekly Inventory

  • General familiarity with Inventory Records

  • Foundational knowledge in Shipping Functions

  • Proficiency in shipping & receiving

  • Pricing experience preferred

  • Hands-on experience with Freight Costs

  • Inventory Tracking experience highly preferred

  • Experience with Freight Quotes

  • Adeptness in Inventory Audits

  • Comprehension of data entry

  • Skills that allow for the completion of general office work, the operation of basic office equipment, and the routing of incoming materials to the proper individuals
