Description Robert Half Finance is seeking candidates who have a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting and clerical department, for a Controller position at a reputable company. This role's duties will require planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis Requirements - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
CPA or MBA preferred
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Vow to meet business deadlines
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Comprehensive knowledge of CPA
Proficiency in financial statement preparation
NetSuite experience preferred
