Description We are in the search for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in the Waste, Refuse & Environmental Waste Management industry based in ELYRIA, Ohio. This role involves a range of financial tasks, from managing customer accounts to conducting daily cash reconciliations and general journal entry preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Handle customer collection processes such as monitoring AR Aging and communicating with customers regarding payments.

• Execute daily cash receipts to customers' AR ledgers in the financial system.

• Oversee the processing of employee expense reimbursement and corporate credit cards.

• Prepare and enter general journal entries as part of the role.

• Perform treasury functions including daily cash reconciliation, payments, deposits, and cash management.

• Manage fixed asset and Capital project accounting; as well as other necessary project tracking.

• Provide general accounting support including financial reporting/analysis, account reconciliation/analysis, and other assigned project work.

• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger as needed.

• Recommend and implement new procedures within accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting function as required.

• Assist with annual audit by providing information and documentation to external auditors.

• Regular use of advanced PC and business computer applications, telephone conferencing, and email.

• Work with RES’ ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) and assists with executing its objectives. Requirements • Possess strong knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficient in conducting Bank Reconciliations

• Experience in maintaining and managing General Ledger

• Skilled in recording and processing Journal Entries

• Ability to handle Month End Close procedures efficiently

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP software

• Proficient in Fixed Asset Accounting and managing Fixed Assets

• Demonstrate high level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred

• Relevant work experience in the Waste, Refuse & Environmental Waste Management industry would be an advantage.
