Description
A Bay Area Biotech Manufacturing company is looking for an interim SEC Reporting Manager consultant to join their team. As the SEC Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and filing of all external financial reports in compliance with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations. Your expertise in financial reporting and strong attention to detail will ensure accurate and timely submission of our financial information to stakeholders, investors, and regulatory authorities. This is a fully remote role.
Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation and review of all SEC filings, including but not limited to annual reports on Form 10-K, quarterly reports on Form 10-Q, and current reports on Form 8-K.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Finance, Legal, and Investor Relations, to gather relevant financial and non-financial data required for SEC reporting.
Ensure compliance with SEC regulations, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) guidelines.
Conduct thorough research on emerging accounting standards and regulations, providing guidance and recommendations to senior management regarding potential impact on financial reporting.
Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process, addressing any inquiries or requests for additional information related to SEC filings.
Develop and maintain strong internal controls and procedures to support accurate and reliable financial reporting.
Monitor and evaluate changes in accounting and reporting requirements, assessing their impact on the company's financial statements and disclosures.
Assist in the preparation of financial information for earnings releases, investor presentations, and other external communications.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company's business operations, financial transactions, and related disclosures to ensure accurate representation in SEC filings.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory developments affecting SEC reporting in the biotech manufacturing sector.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in SEC reporting, financial accounting, or related roles, preferably within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
Thorough understanding of SEC regulations and reporting requirements, including knowledge of US GAAP and FASB standards.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and technical accounting issues.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring adherence to tight deadlines and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Experience coordinating with external auditors during the audit process.
Proficient in using Workiva preferred.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and present complex financial information to diverse audiences.
Proven track record of implementing and maintaining effective internal controls and procedures.
High level of integrity and commitment to upholding ethical standards in financial reporting.
