Robert Half Accountant in Encino, California

Description We are offering an opportunity for an Accountant in the Healthcare/NHS industry located in Encino, California. The role involves maintaining general ledgers and executing critical accounting functions. The position is a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and verify monthly journal entries, including posting in the general ledger

• Assist other departments in verifying check tracers, and executing stop payments when necessary

• Maintain general ledgers based on the company’s chart of accounts

• Perform routine auditing tasks, including the verification and reconciliation of all monies deposited and disbursed for each assigned entity

• Review and analyze monthly management reports such as Capitation Revenue, Membership, Specialty PMPM; identify operational issues and financial problems

• Prepare monthly financial statements for all assigned entities, ensuring availability for review prior to meetings

• Maintain account analysis files and back-up for all balance sheet accounts monthly, including detailed IBNR analysis by product line

• Analyze performance to identify and propose improvements that enhance the profitability of an IPA

• Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions, Great Plains (GPAC), Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Budget Processes is advantageous. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting role within the Healthcare/NHS industry

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems and Great Plains (GPAC)

• Demonstrated experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Proficient in handling Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge of Auditing procedures and practices

• Proficient in Budget Processes

• Willingness to continue learning and adapting to new accounting practices and software

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
