Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager - Public in Encino, California. As a Tax Manager - Public, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, managing multiple tax-related projects and supervising staff. This is clear pathway to partnership within 1 year of successful service for the right candidate. The firm offers four day 36 work week from May to December (with some minor exceptions) - so every Friday off paid during off season!
Responsibilities:
Preparation and review of federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations and trusts
Identify accounting and income tax issues and propose strategies to resolve them
Respond and prepare correspondence to taxing authorities
Research tax matters. Keep up with industry best practices and tax law updates
Communicate status of work and issues to staff and partners on a timely basis
Ability to be proficient in the firm’s income tax and tax projection software
Ensure the confidentiality of client information by following all company procedures regarding handling of information
Supervise staff and assist in their training
Ability to communicate clearly with clients
Lead or assist federal and state tax audits
Willingness to work on practice development skills
Requirements
10 to 15 years’ experience in public accounting
Valid CPA license
Strong analytical skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required and experience with Lacerte software preferred
Undergraduate degree in accounting and advanced degree preferred
This is a 100% in office position only
• Must have experience in preparing and filing Complex Tax Returns.
