The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Responsibilities
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Take part in various department-wide initiatives Requirements - experienced organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Excellent attention to detail
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Well-founded grasp of journal entries
General familiarity with month end closings
Balance Sheet Account experience
Proficiency in financial reporting
Wide ranging experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
Good understanding of Microsoft Dynamics SL
Earlier work involving Sales Tax
Quality experience with payroll
Depreciation Calculations experience desired
Bank reconciliations experience
Proven knowledge of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
Fixed Asset Accounting experience
Practical knowledge of manufacturing
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
