Robert Half Staff Accountant in Erie, Pennsylvania

Description

We are in search of a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in ERIE, Pennsylvania. This role primarily focuses on assisting the Accounts Payable and Receivable team and current staff accountants with bookkeeping and data entry tasks. This role is part of our accounting team and plays a crucial role in maintaining and controlling the general ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Accounts Payable (AP) and Receivable (AR) team and current staff accountants in their day-to-day operations

• Perform bookkeeping duties such as recording, posting data and maintaining financial records

• Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts

• Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions

• Prepare documentation for external auditors

• Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records

• Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts

• Assist in the preparation of month-end close procedures and postings

• Utilize accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, Quickbooks, and SAP to streamline processes and maintain records.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes

• Advanced skills in Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger maintenance, and Journal Entries

• Experience in conducting Month End Close processes

• Proficiency in using financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information responsibly

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Attention to detail and accuracy in all work

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
