Robert Half Technology is seeking an experienced Senior-level Project Manager (PMP) or Technical Project Manager with a strong technical background in M365 to support a local client in transportation based in Eugene, Oregon. This role is to lead the migration from an aging on-premises system to Microsoft 365. This is position is 100% remote but must be worked in PST hours.
Job Title: Senior PMP or Technical Project Manager – M365 Migration
Duration: 6-month contract
Pay: $65-$85/hourly
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the migration of 11-12 departments and 400 end users from an on-premises system to Microsoft 365 (M365).
Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of the migration project, ensuring it is completed on time and within scope.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure that technical aspects of the migration are executed effectively.
Manage the migration process for key areas such as security foundation, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and user management.
Coordinate with stakeholders for weekly stand-ups and progress check-ins, providing status updates on the migration’s progress.
Ensure clear communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to keep all parties informed and aligned.
Mitigate risks and address potential project bottlenecks, ensuring the smooth progression of the migration.
Provide leadership to the migration team and ensure collaboration among departments to achieve project goals.
Ensure that all migration-related tasks, including licensing, email migration, and solution deployment, are effectively managed and executed.
Requirements
Senior-level PMP or Technical Project Manager with extensive experience managing large-scale migration projects.
Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 (M365), with hands-on experience supporting M365 migrations, including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and user management.
Proficiency with project management tools and solutions (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana).
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to drive clear, concise messaging for different audiences.
Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage teams through complex projects.
Strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and openness to change.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with external teams and vendors on M365 migrations.
Knowledge of project management best practices and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
