Description
Bridget Killen at Robert Half is offering an opportunity for a VP/Director of Finance based in Eugene, Oregon. This role is integral to our operations and services within the Finance and Budget Department. The VP/Director of Finance will manage a variety of tasks related to finance, budgeting, auditing, and accounting in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Direct and oversee operations and services within the Finance and Budget Department
• Prepare a wide range of materials, including annual budgets, financial statements, and reports • Conduct annual internal audits, collaborating with external audit firms as necessary
• Manage and monitor financial activities within the organization • Maintain and oversee the accuracy of financial records • Facilitate and participate in meetings related to financial planning and budgeting
• Perform personnel functions within the department, such as hiring, training, and performance evaluations
• Research and analyze financial topics to inform decision-making processes
• Respond to inquiries related to financial matters from both internal and external stakeholders
• Handle other fiscal matters as they arise, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Requirements
• Must hold a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; an advanced degree such as MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred
• Proven experience in a senior-level finance or accounting role in a non-profit environment
• Solid understanding of and experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Significant experience with accounting functions and accounts payable (AP) • Excellent skills in annual budget development, auditing, and budget processes
• Experience with fund accounting, specifically within a non-profit environment, is desirable
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills
• High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to confidentiality
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
