Robert Half Payroll Administrator in Evanston, Illinois

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Payroll Administrator in Evanston, Illinois. This role is within the manufacturing industry and requires on-site work. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including managing payroll administration, HR operations, and various projects.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all aspects of onsite weekly and bi-weekly payroll administration in accordance with company policies, practices, and procedures as well as federal and state regulations.

• Investigate and resolve all employee questions or concerns regarding payroll.

• Manage all 401k administration including employee contributions, company match, compliance testing, etc.

• Reconcile PTO plans and assist with payroll reconciliations and audits.

• Complete verification of employment requests and maintain integrity of voluntary deductions for employees on leave.

• Maintain accurate records within HRIS system and prepare any necessary reports.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and employment laws and regulations, and recommend payroll process improvements and best practices.

• Contribute to HR operations through assigned task or project completion.

• Assist in new employee onboarding and help HR team to develop and implement HR policies and trainings.

• Participate in facilitating company events and perform other duties as assigned.

Key Skills:

• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Kronos Timekeeping System, Microsoft Excel.

• Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration, About Time, Accounting Functions, Benefit Functions, Check Processing. Requirements • Proficiency in using ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now

• Experience with Ceridian and Kronos Timekeeping System

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Familiarity with 401k - RRSP Administration

• Working knowledge of About Time

• Ability to handle Accounting Functions

• Experience with Benefit Functions

• Capable of Check Processing

• Prior experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role

• Strong numerical and organizational skills

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred

• Relevant certification such as Certified Payroll detail oriented (CPP) will be a plus.
