Description We are looking for a dedicated Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team in Everett, Washington. This role involves handling all aspects of electronic and manual payment posting, managing patient accounts, and ensuring accurate processing of healthcare-related transactions. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently handle all aspects of electronic and manual payment posting.

• Coordinate payment files with bank spreadsheet, post and proof electronic files.

• Manage payments received via the patient portal and balance daily posting batch to Athena and bank spreadsheet.

• Handle incoming statement phone calls, answer and research general statement questions.

• Work all incoming reports from POS such as final notice report, bad address report, change of address report.

• Manage payment plans and prepare accounts to be forwarded to the collection agency.

• Research and update addresses for returned mail and reconcile unapplied patient deposits.

• Review patient overpayments, initiate refund request, post to account and mail to the patient.

• Prepare and mail patient appointment hold and discharge letters.

• Set up payment plans and send out Payment Plan Agreement letters.

• Screen for subsidized care and send out Subsidized Care Application. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within the Healthcare/NHS sector.

• Proficient in Accounts Receivable (AR) management.

• Knowledge and experience handling Appeals.

• Familiarity with Billing Functions, particularly within the medical field.

• Experience with Claim Administration and Collection Processes.

• Proficiency in using Epic Software for administrative tasks.

• Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT codes.

• Experience with athenahealth and Centricity software.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.

• Commitment to continuous detail oriented development and learning.
