Description

Looking to fill a Collections Specialist position in Fairfax, Virginia. The Collections Specialist position will work in a mortgage department and will mainly focus on customer service and collections support. The Collections Specialist position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, which allows for potential long-term involvement in the team. This position will be working onsite M-F

Responsibilities:

• Engage with customers to address and resolve inquiries related to their accounts

• Process customer credit applications in a timely and accurate manner

• Follow up with customers on past due payments

• Update customer account information

• Use MS Office suite to maintain and update customer credit records

• Send out notices to customers via email, voicemail, and mail

• Handle multiple phone calls in a fast-paced environment, ensuring each customer receives excellent service

• Support special projects related to taxes and final documentation

• Continuously learn and adapt to the changing needs of the role and the team

• Collaborate with the team to work towards achieving the company's objectives.

Requirements

• Preference someone who has previously worked within collections, banking, loan or mortgage company.

• Looking for at least 2 years of office experience.

• Demonstrates strong customer service skills.

• Has experience in consumer collections.

• Proficient in using MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Demonstrates high levels of integrity and professionalism.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

• Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed set performance targets.

• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
