Position: Personal Injury Legal Assistant
Position: Fairfax, VA
Description: Our client, a prominent law firm, is looking to bring on an experienced Legal Assistant to for their Personal Injury practice group. This role is ideal for candidates with strong litigation, technical, and administrative skills who can manage the progression of cases, create and maintain electronic files, and prepare and process complex legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda.
Responsibilities:
• Draft and prepare legal documents for state and federal court filings, including discovery requests/responses, pleadings, motions, and letters.
• Handle e-filing in state and federal courts.
• Schedule meetings and appointments, maintain attorney calendars, and manage contact information.
• Conduct new client intake, handle time entry and billing, and organize file maintenance using the firm’s electronic records management system.
• Coordinate attorney travel and expense reimbursement.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of legal assistant experience, with a focus on personal injury litigation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with e-filing systems, document management, and time/billing systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, and client service skills.
• Attention to detail, including accurate spelling, grammar, and proofreading.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

• Proficiency in Case Management Software.
• Experience in handling Billing Functions.
• Expertise in Calendar Management and Claim Administration.
• Strong ability to maintain Client Relations.
• Excellent Communication skills.
• Experience in Civil Litigation and Commercial Litigation.
• Knowledge of Complaints handling and Complex Business Litigation.
• Experience in Complex Litigation and Construction Litigation.
• Proficiency in Court Filing and handling Court Cases.
• Familiarity with Court Rules and Court Proceedings.
• Courtroom Experience, including Courts - Appellate, Courts - Federal, and Courts - State.
• Experience in Cross-Examination and Defense Litigation.
• Skills in Document Production and drafting Correspondence.
• Ability to Draft Legal Documents, Pleadings, and Motions.
• Proficiency in e-Discovery, e-File, and e-Filing procedures.
• Familiarity with Evidence handling and Evidence Summary.
• Experience in Federal Court and understanding of Federal Rules.
• Knowledge of Injury Law and Insurance Defense.
• Experience in Insurance Defense Litigation and handling Insurance cases.
• Understanding of Judicial Decision making.
• Ability to manage Legal Correspondence and Legal Files.
• Proficiency in Legal Research and writing Legal Memoranda.
• Experience in Litigation - Civil, Litigation - Defense, and Litigation - Plaintiff.
• Ability to handle Litigation Documents and has Litigation Experience.
