Robert Half Manager Financial Reporting in Fairfax, Virginia
Description We are looking for a Manager of Financial Reporting to join our team in the financial services industry located in Fairfax, Virginia. As part of this role, you will oversee the production of financial statements, manage the accounting reporting team, develop financial reporting policies, and communicate with external auditors. This role will also require you to stay informed about changes in GAAP and regulatory requirements, analyze financial data for management decision-making, and collaborate with other teams for accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the preparation of all financial statements, ensuring they adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Supervise the accounting reporting team, evaluating their performance to maintain a high-performing and efficient team.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for financial reporting to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Review and approve all financial reports before they are released, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
• Act as a point of contact for external auditors during the audit process, providing necessary information and facilitating smooth audit operations.
• Educate staff on financial reporting principles to enhance their knowledge and skills.
• Stay informed about changes in GAAP and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and adapt to evolving reporting standards.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that can support informed decision-making by management.
• Prepare and present financial reports to the CFO, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders, providing clear explanations of financial performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations, sales, and human resources to gather necessary data and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Conduct research on accounting topics and prepare memos for management and the Board regarding strategic decisions and their accounting implications. Requirements
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is a must.
• Familiarity with BlackLine and EPS software is desirable.
• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is essential.
• Capability to perform Accounting Functions effectively is needed.
• Expertise in handling Accounts Payable (AP) is important.
• Auditing skills are necessary for this role.
• Ability to manage Balance Sheet Account is expected.
• Experience in managing Budget Processes is required.
