Description
Our client is recruiting for a new senior accountant. This role has high visibility to leadership. Solid company with good benefits. Two days in the office. The Senior Accountant is responsible for collaborating with the accounting leadership to maintain accurate financial records and processes. This includes handling general ledger accounting, reconciliation, and assisting with comprehensive financial reporting and analyses to aid decision-making for the executive team. The role also involves leading and executing strategic projects as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Develop and deliver monthly and annual financial reports for assigned organizational units, ensuring precision and adherence to deadlines.
Support in the financial closing procedures on a monthly basis for a prominent industry association.
General Ledger Accounting and Reconciliation
Craft and finalize journal entries for financial periods.
Conduct reconciliations for a range of ledger accounts, ensuring consistency across banking, payment, and membership systems.
Oversee the processing and reconciliation of financial transactions and memberships, managing timely requests related to financial exchanges.
Ensure the integrity of financial statements, reconciling with internal databases.
Budgeting for Assigned Affiliates
Collaborate in annual budgeting sessions, providing support and resources to organizational managers for fiscal planning.
Aid managers in budget development and execution.
Audit and Tax Reporting
Actively participate in audit processes, managing the fulfillment of audit requirements.
Facilitate the gathering of data necessary for tax documentation for organizational entities.
Additional Duties
Manage the filing of annual reports for various entities.
Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the accounting and finance leadership.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's Degree with at least 3 years of experience in accounting, with a preference for backgrounds in non-profit or association contexts; CPA is advantageous.
A solid grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Keen attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills coupled with effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in accounting software, database management, and advanced competency in Excel.
Autonomous work ethic with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
