Robert Half HR Generalist in Fairfield, California



  • Recruitment: Organize and support ongoing employee recruiting efforts.

  • Onboarding: Schedule new hire onboardings and conduct new employee orientations and maintain records accordingly.

  • Payroll: Manage payroll and timekeeping systems utilizing Kronos HRIS software.

  • Benefits: Manage and administer employee benefits and workers compensation programs; Be a resource and provide answers to employee questions regarding company policies, benefits, Leave of Absence, FMLA, etc.; Track LOA’s, FMLA, maternity leaves and workers comp claims.

  • Compliance: Responsible for staying up to date and knowledgeable of state and federal labor laws to ensure compliance.

  • Performance Management: Assist in drafting and tracking personnel documentation, such as attendance, grievances, injury reports and performance evaluations.

  • Employee Relations: Support internal investigations and help resolve employee relations issues.



  • 3 + years of experience

  • You MUST be able to conduct a conversation in both English and Spanish.

  • Minimum five years’ experience as an HR generalist. Food industry or manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of California and Federal labor laws.

  • Knowledge of HR Information systems such as Dayforce, Kronos, etc.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills. You must be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize needs and meet deadlines.

  • You must be able to exercise discretion, sound judgment and diplomacy in all work.
