Robert Half Litigation Attorney in Fargo, North Dakota

Description

A well-established litigation firm seeks an experienced and highly motivated Attorney. The firm specializes in insurance coverage and defense litigation. This attorney will provide legal representation to our clients in high-stakes litigation matters and other insurance coverage matters. The ideal candidate will have considerable experience in insurance litigation on the insurer side. This role will be based in Fargo, North Dakota and ideal candidates will have active bar licenses in North Dakota and Minnesota. Business development or a transportable book of business is not required for this role. This is an excellent long-term career opportunity to step into an established practice and manage complex litigation.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire legal process efficiently, from investigation and pleadings to discovery, pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal.

  • Appear in court and argue motions.

  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.

  • Research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations in legal issues and proceedings and provide guidance.

  • Conduct pre-trial depositions of witnesses and experts.

  • Determine the advisability of defending the lawsuit for the insurance claim.

  • Develop and implement litigation strategies, following changing laws and regulations and industry trends.

  • Regularly communicate and offer counsel to clients on ongoing cases and legal issues.

  • Drive customer service by ensuring client needs and goals are always the prime focus.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Requirements

Prefered Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Admission to North Dakota and Minnesota bar.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in insurance defense litigation.

  • Proven ability to handle and manage litigation cases from start to finish.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

  • A dedication to ethical business practices.

  • Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong project management, time management, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritizing work assignments, meeting deadlines, and work independently.

  • Proficiency with legal research software and platform like Westlaw or LexisNexis.
