Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Farmers Branch, Texas
Description We are in search of an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Farmers Branch, Texas. The chosen candidate will be integral in overseeing a department of three, analyzing daily sales, and managing intercompany bookings and reconciliations. This role provides an opportunity to utilize your skills in a variety of areas, including general journal entries, tax filings, bank reconciliations, and vendor management.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee a team of three, fostering a positive and collaborative team atmosphere
• Conduct daily sales analysis to monitor and evaluate financial performance
• Handle balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
• Manage intercompany bookings and reconciliations with our parent company
• Prepare and manage general and recurring journal entries
• Oversee monthly sales and use tax software to ensure compliance with tax regulations
• Review and approve property tax filings to meet legal requirements
• Assist in annual financial audit data gathering
• Reconcile vendor rebates and debit backs to manage financial records accurately
• Convert local vendors to Paymode, facilitating wire transactions
• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure all financial records are accurate
• Assist in developing and managing internal controls to improve financial operations
• Dedicate time to staff development, enhancing their skills and performance
• Undertake special projects as required, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills. Requirements • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems including BlackLine and Concur
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with Auditing and Billing Functions
• Knowledge of Distribution systems, Electrical distribution, Global Distribution System, and Logistics & Distribution
• Proficiency in Cloud software development, Cloud Storage, Cloud strategy, and Cloud Technologies
• Ability to supervise and manage a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Professional certification, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), is preferred
• Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the accounting sector
• Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and stressful environment
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
