Description

Robert Half is excited to find a Surgical Scheduler/Coordinator to enhance our client’s team in the Farmingdale, New Jersey area. In this vital role, you'll manage the administrative details of surgical procedures, ensuring a seamless experience for our patients. If you have strong communication skills, multitasking abilities, and a solid understanding of medical terminology, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the key point of contact, managing communications between patients, physicians, and healthcare professionals to ensure all necessary information is efficiently shared.

  • Organize operating room time following physician protocols and transmit essential documents to outside facilities.

  • Oversee the scheduling of surgeries, pre-operative appointments, and post-operative follow-ups for a smooth patient journey.

  • Obtain insurance authorizations and verify patient eligibility, ensuring all financial aspects are handled efficiently.

  • Prepare surgical charts, consent forms, and other essential documents to facilitate the surgical process.

  • Assist with the patient registration and check-in process, making sure everything runs smoothly from the start.

  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of surgical procedures, including pre-operative instructions and post-operative care plans.

  • Work closely with the billing department to ensure precise coding and billing for surgical procedures.

  • Provide outstanding support to patients by resolving issues, answering inquiries, and guiding them through every step of the surgical process.

  • Organize all business and clinical documentation prior to surgery, preparing it for physician signature.

Requirements • Proficiency in scheduling, particularly in the context of surgical procedures

• Familiarity with various surgical procedures and the ability to coordinate them effectively

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in managing schedules and coordinating appointments

• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality

• Experience or familiarity with medical documentation and the ability to maintain accurate records

• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise between patients, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions quickly when scheduling conflicts arise

• Familiarity with medical software systems and proficiency in using them for scheduling purposes

• A willingness to stay updated on changes in surgical procedures and healthcare regulations that may impact scheduling.
