Robert Half Senior Accountant in Farmington Hills, Michigan

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant in Farmington Hills, Michigan, United States. This role is primarily responsible for financial statement preparations, consolidation, full cycle accounting entries, and balance sheet accounts reconciliation. You will also be offering guidance to accounts payable clerks and staff accountants, and providing recommendations for process improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and consolidate financial statements

• Handle full cycle accounting entries, including Revenue, Payroll, Cash, and Accruals

• Analyze Financial Statements for discrepancies and alert the Controller if necessary

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure the accuracy of financial statements

• Lead the year-end financial audit, including review of work papers and reconciliations

• Coordinate with accounting software vendors to maintain and enhance the system

• Review and follow-up on expense items that are outside of budget or appear unusual

• Assist in the preparation of annual reports, including Personal Property Statements, Sales and use tax Reporting and others as required

• Participate in Month End close meetings with Clinical Operation Leaders to interpret financial results

• Collaborate across multiple departments to improve financial reporting

• Assist the controller and Vice President of Finance in Budget Preparation

Skills:

• Proficient with Accounting Functions

• Experience with Cash Activity management

• Familiarity with General Ledger management

• Capable of processing Journal Entries

• Knowledge in Fixed Asset Accounting

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting role

• Proficiency in Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Cash Activity

• Familiarity with General Ledger operations

• Capability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries

• Knowledge in Fixed Asset Accounting

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Compliance with all relevant accounting regulations and standards

• Demonstrated professional ethics and integrity.
