Robert Half Payroll Administrator in Federal Way, Washington
Description Robert Half seeks a Payroll Administrator to help process payroll with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the desire to fill a role in the Healthcare, Hospitals, Social Assistance field. Based in Federal Way, Washington, the Payroll Administrator position is a long-term contract / temporary opportunity.
Responsibilities
Report needed changes after maintaining payroll operations according to established policies and procedures
Protect confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence
Supporting all internal and external audits related to payroll
Reviewing and verifying source documents
Facilitate company compliance according to federal and state regulations and guidelines
Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
Reconciling of employee deductions and other liabilities
Calculate employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments to establish payroll liabilities
Draft relevant year-end reports, as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly ones, for department heads
Handle all payroll information questions and requests
Compile all information in reference to summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages for reports
Manage payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Manage other tasks as assigned
Track payroll record changes by entering updates in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers Requirements - Prior experience working with accounting software
Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
Mastery of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
Solid understanding of payroll
Prior experience working with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred
Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Mastery of internal controls
Relevant experience of 2+ years in payroll
