Robert Half Payroll Data Entry Clerk in Federal Way, Washington

Description We are offering an opportunity for a diligent Payroll Administrator in the Healthcare, Hospitals, Social Assistance sector. This role is based in Federal Way, Washington, and involves processing payroll, requiring proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. The role is dynamic, requiring strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities. This opportunity will place you in a dynamic team, offering growth within the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Manage various tasks as assigned, ensuring all payroll related issues are addressed

• Retrieve and assess information to resolve payroll discrepancies

• Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll

• Detail all payroll liabilities by establishing employee federal and state income and social security taxes along with employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments

• Address all questions and requests related to payroll

• Enter changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers as part of managing payroll records

• Manage employee deductions and other liabilities

• Ensure company compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines

• Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data

• Follow established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report changes as necessary

• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll operations information

• Draft reports by organizing all summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages

• Manage and review, including verify, source documents

• Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for department heads. Requirements • Must possess a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

• Significant experience in a Payroll Administrator role or similar within the healthcare industry

• Comprehensive understanding of payroll systems and procedures

• Proficiency in payroll software, ideally within the healthcare sector

• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail

• Strong knowledge of tax procedures and legislation relevant to payroll

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity

• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Knowledge of labor legislation, and payroll tax laws are essential

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Professional certification in Payroll Management will be an advantage.
