Robert Half Sr. Payroll Specialist in Fill Out, California


Our reputable client is seeking a Payroll Manager to join the company. This Payroll Manager will help achieve standards that are necessary for growth within the financial department and will be responsible for work on tax-related tasks, such as W2 forms, preparing reports and updating policies. What you get to do every single day

  • Build systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g., salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments)

  • Manage and train payroll clerks and assistants

  • Answer payroll-related questions and resolve issues

  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate records

  • Manage processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades

  • Arrange payroll systems and timekeeping

  • Comply with internal policies and relevant laws

  • Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits

  • Collaborate with accounting and Human Resources (HR) teams

    Requirements - Solid grasp on current payroll procedures and related laws

  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills

  • CPP, CPM, or other related professional certifications is a plus

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills

  • Superb understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes

  • Efficient in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

  • 2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role

  • 5+ years of payroll experience

  • Proficiency in payroll applications

  • Compliance knowledge

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field
