Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in Fleming Island, Florida. As a Staff Accountant, you will be instrumental in managing and maintaining accounting records, payroll, and accounts payable processing for the organization. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, where you will have the chance to contribute to the management of office leases and other financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain payroll and accounting systems, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

• Oversee the timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

• Develop and provide organizational guidance on payroll and travel reimbursement practices utilizing various internal communications platforms.

• Monitor changes in payroll law, provide organizational guidance, and update processes and guidance to ensure compliance.

• Develop and maintain accounting internal control standards to comply with federal and state requirements.

• Develop and maintain analytical tools to assist in financial decision-making; develop, maintain and utilize financial forecasting and financial modeling.

• Review and process payment of all procurement related activities while ensuring procurement procedures are compliant with policy and procedures.

• Manage all property and equipment; ensure records are current and maintain inventory and schedules. Order and coordinate the delivery of equipment and materials to facilities.

• Oversee facility preventative maintenance, health and fire inspections, renovations, and emergency repairs.

• Initiate and manage all office leases and rental agreements. Ensure agreements comply with rules, regulations, and guidelines as required.

• Execute operational accounting functions: general ledger, accounts payable and receivables.

• Record numerical and financial data to produce financial records. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is a must.

• Solid experience in Bank Reconciliations is required.

• Need to have working knowledge in General Ledger and Journal Entries.

• Should have demonstrable experience in Month End Close.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, and Paycom is necessary.

• Understanding of Compliance, Certified Payroll, Full Cycle Payroll, and Lease Agreements is essential.

• Must possess strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.

• Possession of or working towards a CPA certification is a plus.
