Robert Half Tax Director/Manager - Corporate in Flower Mound, Texas

Description We are currently searching for a Global Tax Manager who will be responsible for global taxation management functions (i.e. tax reporting, planning, forecasting, analysis, and cash flow management), effectively leveraging resources as necessary, to manage global transfer pricing strategies to optimize jurisdictional benefits, building trusted advisor relationships throughout the organization, improving visibility to global taxation objectives, and making taxation recommendations supported by effective analysis and solid criteria.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparation of ASC 740 global quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, including but not limited to accounting for deferred balances, ASC 740-270 (Fin 18), ASC 830, ASC 718, ASC 740-10, IAS 34

• Review foreign provisions and tax returns, leveraging outside tax firms

• Stay current with US and international tax law legislation or updates, FASB and IFRS updates

• Prepare required tax reporting and disclosures for Annual Report (publicly traded on the Hong Kong stock exchange)

• Provide global tax planning strategies to management including tax reporting, planning, forecasting, analysis and cash flow management, ensuring visibility to results and performance against objectives

• Manages the company’s global transfer pricing strategies, leveraging outside tax partners, to optimize jurisdictional taxation benefits within the applicable laws for each of the company’s operating areas

• Manages the company’s Research and Development tax credit process, leveraging outside tax partners

• Review foreign provisions and tax returns while leveraging outside tax firms

• Expert in reviewing the work of outside tax firms for federal and state income compliance to rules and regulations of the tax jurisdiction prior to the signature of the authorized executive or Board Chairman

• Manages the sales tax return filing process leveraging outside tax firms to ensure returns are filed accurately and timely

• Maintains the global tax calendar, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local taxation and global regulatory requirements, collaborating with outside Tax Partners in various jurisdictions to ensure timely filing

• Represents the tax interest of the company with government revenue services and tax auditors

• Performs research and gathers data from various sources to file timely property tax renditions

• Prepares reconciliations, processes tax payments, process tax notices for US taxing jurisdictions, prepare Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR), maintain various global corporate documents, process statements of work for outside tax firms and track expenses

• Identify and implement process improvement ideas

• Responsible for identifying and documenting Internal Control processes to mitigate risk

• Supports the regional accounting teams to assist with general ledger monthly accruals

• Builds relationships with peers and others within the global organization in gathering required information and coordinating the global taxation function

• Creates clear, concise management reports summarizing key performance metrics/insights

• Monitor changes in global tax laws and/or financial reporting guidance to ensure income tax impact is properly considered and reported.

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax or Finance required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred

• 6 or more years of relative tax experience

• Multi-jurisdictional taxation experience

• ASC 740, FIN 48 and IAS34 exp Requirements Tax Compliance Processes, Corporate Tax Compliance, Tax Provisions, ASC 740, FIN 48
