Robert Half Construction Controller in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Construction Controller in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This role is integral to our operations in the construction industry, where you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with policies, and providing financial insights to support strategic business decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial policies.

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

• Implement and maintain effective job costing systems and processes.

• Analyze project costs, margins, and profitability in relation to construction accounting.

• Collaborate with project managers to monitor and manage budget variances.

• Lead the budgeting process and work closely with senior management.

• Prepare cash flow forecasts and financial projections to support decision-making.

• Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, providing variance analysis.

• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and timely filing of tax returns.

• Oversee external audits and coordinate with auditors to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring their ongoing professional development.

• Provide financial insights to support strategic business decisions.

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

• Support business development initiatives through financial analysis and modeling. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services

• Experience with CRM

• Knowledge of Crystal Reports

• Ability to handle Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Understanding of Auditing procedures

• Proficiency in Budget Processes

• Experience in Construction Accounting

• Knowledge of AIA Billing

• Experience in Project Accounting
