Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Description We have a client looking to permanent a new Full Charge Bookkeeper. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will control payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, and full cycle A/P. The clerical staff will report back to the Full Charge Bookkeeper. This Bookkeeper role is a great opportunity if you are a self-driven and organized accounting detail oriented who thrives under tight deadlines with minimal supervision. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area.

Your responsibilities

  • Make all cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.

  • Catalog sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments

  • Log budget transfers

  • Work on special projects occasionally

  • Produce cash flow projections, as needed

  • Complete Accounts Payable

  • Manage Accounts Receivable

  • Provide monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents

  • Arrange subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement

  • Capable in credit card management and reconciliation

  • Recap business license and gross receipts

  • Oversee monthly accounting close Requirements - Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

    • 5+ years of related experience- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred
  • Financial statement preparation experience

  • Adeptness in WIP - Work In Progress

  • Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience

  • Posting Journal Entries experience preferred

  • Credit Card Reconciliation experience highly desired

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills

  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • Strong communication and social skills

    • Previous accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • Strong time management and organizational skills
