Robert Half Staff Accountant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a diligent and organized Staff Accountant to join our team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This role will be primarily focused on handling various accounting tasks including, but not limited to, maintaining and reconciling accounts, managing billing and collections, and handling accounts payable. This position will be based in our office and will follow a Monday to Friday, 9-5pm schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the general ledger including posting journal entries

• Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring prompt billing and collections

• Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data

• Oversee and manage the preparation of debit and credit entries

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Sage 300 to maintain financial records and prepare reports

• Ensure all financial data and records are accurate and up-to-date

• Handle customer credit inquiries and process credit applications efficiently

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action for delinquent payments

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth accounting operations

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to financial policies and procedures. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Data Entry

• Familiarity with Billing and Billing Collection processes

• Understanding of Collections and Collections - Consumer

• Proficiency in using Sage 300

• Ability to conduct Bank Reconciliations and Monthly Bank Reconciliation

• Experience in managing Journal Entries, Journal Entry, Journal Entry Preparation, Ledger Journal Entries, Month-end Journal Entries, Monthly Journal Entries, and Post Journal Entries

• Understanding of Debits and Credit

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Excel Formulas

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
