Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Fort Myers, Florida
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the construction industry, located in Fort Myers, Florida. As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a vital role in our financial team by managing a range of tasks including processing payments, maintaining records, and coordinating with project managers.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately and efficiently process vendor payments and invoices.
• Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to ensure work related to invoices is completed and approved.
• Set up and manage various online bill payments.
• Maintain accurate records pertaining to projects, including scanning and filing documents.
• Collect all necessary lien waivers relating to vendor invoices/payments.
• Utilize accounting software systems such as Sage 300/Timberline and QuickBooks to manage accounts payable.
• Demonstrate a high level of discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
• Showcase strong organizational skills by prioritizing and multitasking in a busy construction company environment.
• Exhibit strong communication skills to manage critical deadlines.
• Operate Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other software systems to accomplish tasks. Requirements
• Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role within the construction or contractor industry
• Proficient in account coding and understanding of its principles
• Demonstrable knowledge and competence in using accounting software systems
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and best practices
• Experience handling AIA (The American Institute of Architects) documents
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information
• Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
