Description
If you're looking to build your career in accounting, there's currently a Staff Accountant position through Robert Half that you may want to check out. The Staff Accountant holds responsibility for preparing monthly and year-end closings, fixed asset maintenance, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. A great deal of time in this position will be spent producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. And during the monthly close, your responsibilities will also cover various aspects of internal reporting. You'll also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, take part in compliance, and look over schedules for the reporting processes.
How you will make an impact
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Partake in annual closing processes
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Requirements - Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Excellent attention to detail
Proficient in ERP systems
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
General ledger experience desired
Demonstrated knowledge of Monthly Accruals
Adeptness in Excel Formulas
Bank Account Reconciliation experience
General familiarity with Nonprofit Organizations
Account reconciliation experience
Experience with QuickBooks
Command of bank reconciliations
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
