Robert Half has partnered with a client in the transportation industry and are in search of an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join their team based in Fort Worth, Texas. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health and strategic financial planning of our organization. The role involves managing various accounting functions, including the accounting of their retirement benefit plans and trust accounts, and ensuring adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the accounting associated with the organization's retirement benefit plans and trust accounts in compliance with GAAP.

• Prepare and review financial statements and disclosures for the organization's 10-Q and 10-K.

• Handle the preparation and review of Form 11-K’s, Benefit Plan financial statements, and financial portions of Form 5500’s.

• Serve as the main point of contact among internal departments, various service partners, and external auditors to ensure proper accounting and auditing of benefit plans.

• Assist with quarterly communications and deliverables to the parent company related to the plans.

• Keep up-to-date on plan assumptions and the associated financial implications for reporting and monthly forecasting purposes.

• Proactively identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Ensure accurate customer credit records are maintained.

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience

• Proficiency in Auditing and External Reporting

• Experience with Employee Benefit Plan and Defined Benefit Pension Plan

• Familiarity with Form 5500, Form 10-K, and Form 10-Q

• Prior experience at a Big 4 Accounting Firm is highly desirable

• Strong understanding of GAAP Accounting principles

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment

• Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining a high level of accuracy

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
