Description Robert Half Finance is looking for an ambitious Controller to join a well-respected services company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the Fort Worth, Texas region.

How you will make an impact

  • Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

  • Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

  • Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

  • Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

  • Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

  • Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

  • Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies Requirements - Excellent attention to detail

  • Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

  • Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Microsoft Excel experience

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
