Robert Half Controller in Fort Worth, Texas

Description We are seeking a Controller to join our team in the non-profit industry, based in Fort Worth, Texas. The role involves providing leadership, oversight, and accountability to the Accounting/Finance team, advising on financial policies, and preparing financial reports. This role also requires the implementation of the day-to-day administration and control of the accounting, treasury, and payroll functions to safeguard the organization’s assets.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and necessary resources to the Accounting/Finance team

• Contribute to the council strategy and implementation process

• Advise on matters pertaining to financial policies in alignment with council goals

• Prepare the general operating budget and monitor its performance

• Maintain responsibility for special funds arising out of gifts, grants, and other allocations

• Prepare all financial reports to provide accurate and up-to-date information on the council’s financial activities

• Ensure that all council financial operations comply with local, state, federal, and not-for-profit regulations, guidelines, and laws

• Implement the day-to-day administration and control of the accounting, treasury, and payroll functions

• Participate in financial and operational audits, identify opportunities for improved efficiencies, and supervise the implementation of improvements to internal controls and operating procedures

• Provide oversight to council information systems to ensure optimal financial interface with accounting software systems

• Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with donors, members, volunteers, staff, and community contacts. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Prior experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Knowledge of DCAA regulations and requirements

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Familiarity with various ERP Solutions

• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)

• Proficiency in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Skilled in Auditing processes and procedures

• Experience in Budget Processes within a non-profit organization context.
