Description

Challenging SEC Financial Reporting Manager Role in Fort Worth with Supplier to Energy Sector who has been in business 70+ years. The role is in office 5 days a week allowing a high achiever to lead the SEC reporting process reporting to the VP.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist in the preparation and review of monthly consolidated financial and operating results included in monthly package to be presented to management and BOD for actuals vs. budget, actuals vs. prior year and actuals vs. forecast. Assist Controller with the redesign of the monthly package to meet the requirements of management, as necessary.

• Prepare annual budget and quarterly reforecast for corporate departments.

• Participate in monthly operating results and balance sheet reviews prepared by the company’s three business units.

• Compile, draft and review Form 10-K’s, 10-Q’s and other filings including the update of disclosures as necessary. Prepare and review financial statement disclosure checklist and maintain organized tie-out and support for all filings.

• Coordinate with other departments and business units to obtain information for 10-Q/K disclosures. Redesign, as necessary, internal information request list and process to ensure an efficient and streamlined flow of information into filing documents. Ensure appropriate communication with departments and business units such all parties are aware of exactly what information is required and when.

• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate a successful audit and provide documentation requests as necessary.

• Ensure consistent accounting and reporting treatment across Company’s three business units. Proactively identify differences in accounting policies and practices and work with Controller to ensure alignment across the business.

• Draft accounting policies and memos, as necessary. Maintain current understand of GAAP and SEC guidelines; research technical accounting issues and document and present findings and conclusions.

• Assist controller in designing and coordinating the annual budget process, including review of BU and consolidated budgets and forecasts.

• Assist Controller in building and maintaining robust process documentation, including flow charts and desk-top procedures, as necessary.

• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

• Assist Controller and business units in maintenance of SOX control matrix, as necessary.

• Assist Controller with special projects as necessary. Must have a problem-solver attitude and demonstrated ability to manage issues and projects to resolution.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance and a CPA

• 7+ years of accounting / financial reporting experience. A mix of public and industry experience is preferred.
