Robert Half Maintenance Manager in Fort Worth, Texas
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Manager in the manufacturing industry, based in Fort Worth, Texas. As a Maintenance Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing all installation, repair, and upkeep activities of our manufacturing equipment and infrastructure. Your work will involve ensuring machine reliability, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and managing repairs to reduce downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Administer the upkeep of all manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure
• Facilitate continuous operation, proper maintenance, and timely repair of facility and manufacturing equipment
• Propose modifications, repairs, and new installations for equipment to boost operational efficiency
• Handle general facility maintenance and oversee its operations
• Formulate and assess preventative maintenance schedules to guarantee equipment reliability
• Delegate tasks to the maintenance team, supervise completion, and ensure compliance with schedules
• Organize regular maintenance planning meetings to set priorities and resolve any scheduling conflicts
• Guide and train team members on processes for continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
• Advocate for a culture of proactive maintenance and continuous improvement
• Apply reliability-centered maintenance practices to boost equipment uptime and performance
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and address breakdowns promptly
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and keep orderly work areas in line with Good Manufacturing Practices
• Initiate and monitor Preventive Maintenance programs and audit completed work to ensure quality
• Supervise equipment installation, modification, testing, and maintenance in compliance with environmental and safety standards
• Direct mechanics in executing approved maintenance work, overseeing quality, cost, duration, and thoroughness
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to ensure that maintenance work aligns with production schedules and quality standards
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, even under pressure, in a fast-paced setting
• Follow food safety and quality protocols to ensure a safe and sanitary environment
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and safe work practices. Requirements
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required; additional technical certifications preferred.
• Engineering background or relevant technical training strongly preferred.
• Expertise in the following:
o Reading mechanical drawings (including hydraulics and pneumatics).
o Electrical schematics up to 480V 3-phase troubleshooting and wiring.
o PLC troubleshooting and basic programming.
o Maintenance of mechanical systems, such as gearboxes, sprockets, motors, and seals.
o Operation and maintenance of forklifts and air compressors.
o Troubleshooting conveyors, palletizing equipment, and case packers.
• Prior experience in food manufacturing is essential, with a strong understanding of GMPs and food safety standards.
• Expertise in electronics, controls, hydraulics, and mechanical and electrical systems commonly found in food production equipment.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting systems up to 480V 3-phase, PLC troubleshooting, and basic programming.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and twisting throughout the shift.
• Proficient in maintenance management software and other relevant applications for scheduling, tracking, and documenting maintenance work.
