Description We are in search for a Senior Accountant to join our team based in FORT WORTH, Texas. This role involves overseeing and managing the financial operations within the nonprofit sector. The selected individual will ensure accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and nonprofit accounting standards.

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, tracking budget versus actual performance and providing variance analysis.

• Oversee financial aspects of grants, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance. Ensure timely and accurate submission of grant reports.

• Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring that all financial records and documentation are in order.

• Supervise the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.

• Monitor and manage cash flow, prepare cash forecasts and ensure sufficient funds are available for operational needs.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, staying updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations affecting nonprofits.

• Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning and decision-making, developing financial models and reports as needed.

• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing training and support to ensure accurate and efficient accounting processes.

• Oversee the use of accounting software and systems, implementing improvements and updates as necessary. Requirements • Proficiency in performing all accounting functions

• Demonstrated experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Familiarity with non-profit accounting principles

• Ability to document processes effectively

• Experience in conducting month-end close activities

• History of managing year-end close procedures

• Experience in preparing year-end financial statements

• Familiarity with year-end reporting requirements

• Proven ability to handle month-end financial tasks

• Experience in preparing and reviewing journal entries
